Grandma Time

5 weeks ago my mom underwent a pretty intense but much needed surgery. It was no fun to see her in a hospital bed or in pain but what has been super fun is her 6 weeks off from work to recover.

Shayna and I have definitely been taking advantage of our "Grandma Time".

It has been so nice to go over and do fun stuff with Grandma! She has had to really take it easy so we have spent a lot of at home quality time. I feel like a lot of her break she has been put to work on family parties and baby projects though (sorry). I cannot wait to show off all of the sewing stuff she has mastered for me for the baby in her time off and the amazing baby shower she put together for us! Those are all posts to come.

As she has began to feel more and more active we have done some super fun stuff:

Lunch dates
 Sewing dates
Shopping dates

Took a trip out to Bonnie Springs Petting Zoo

And even spent an afternoon pampering ourselves with Euphoria Pedicures.....SO FUN!

My mom is Shayna's total favorite. Her BFF! She loves her Grandma so much, sometimes it makes me jealous how crazy she is about her.... no joke! But do I blame her? My mom is amazing. She has been my rock, ALWAYS. Her and Shay have such a special relationship, they always have and always will.

I am so grateful for my amazing mom. Our favorite woman in the world. She does so much for me, for us, I do not know what I would do without her. I hope to one day to be half the mother she is! We love you Grandma!!!!

Forever Farias.

Quarter of a Century

So I am so bad at this blogging stuff, probably because I am so new at it still. I have a list of all the posts I want up before the baby comes and I better hurry! I am a few weeks late but have to blog about my BIG 25th Birthday so I am changing the blog date for this post:
March 8, 2013
HELLO 25!

 This birthday was extra special!
I started the morning with a present scavenger hunt that Willie had all ready for me.
Talk about the best husband ever!!!!!
He leaves for work at 4:30am so some how he had it all sent up the night before without me noticing. Shayna and I went on the super fun present hunt around the house, she of course thought they were all for her!

I waited for him to get home to open them and it was well worth the wait! I got new Nike's, the new Ipod nano for when I start my running after the baby, the massage oil I love and One Line A Day- 5 year journal (which I started on my 25th birthday and will end on my 30th).....super excited about it! He spoiled me!

Then we had lunch with my mom (totally enjoying her not working) and Willie had a night out the two of us planned!

We had a hot date at a surprise location called Honey Salt and was one amazing meal with an amazing view.......this guy! Is he not the hottest thing ever!!!!

Honey Salt was delicious! Best new place we have been to in awhile! It was Vegetarian friendly. To the left was the appetizer we got and my oh my was I in love! I enjoyed the Salmon and Willie had the Scallops. YUM!
It was a rainy night so walking around the park of our first date 9 years ago became not an option to end the night but we still got my favorite custard in town and enjoyed time the two of us!
It was perfect,  he is perfect! I really am one lucky lady! The next night I enjoyed a Birthday dinner celebration at Bahama Breeze my sister planned for me with some of my favorite ladies! Super perfect start my 25th year.

Now that my "new year" has become I have compiled a list of 25 things I want to accomplish/ do before my next birthday. I hope to keep this a tradition for myself each year. To keep my motivated on the things most important to me in that year. They are all revolved around my family, spirituality, health and some are just some fun things I want to do.

Here's my 25's:

1. All natural childbirth- Having complications with Shayna's labor and delivery I had to be induced and ended up getting epidural at 8cm dilated. This time around I am definitely more ready and prepared with the help of our hypnobirthing class and our doctor, Dr. Steven Harter (the best natural birth advocate as a doctor in town), this time I know I can do it.
2. Become one fit mama again (loose baby weight faster then with Shay).
3. Try a raw foods diet for a month.
4. Run a half marathon.
5. Read the BOM front to back.
6. Hike Mt. Charleston with my dad and Willie. (The best time to do this is late summer, not sure if I will be in the post baby shape I will need to be but we will see).
7. Family trip to the Beach and Disneyland. I am seriously dying to go.
8. Start Project Life.

9. Journal line entry a day....please fill daily.
10. Yoga! At least 3 times a week.
11. School. I would love to go back and take nutrition classes.
12. Watch the Harry Potter trilogy. Have yet to see the last few.
13. Get over my nail biting habit.
14. Photograph life more with my big camera.
15. Become a better blogger.
16. Start and keep to a food journal.
17. Blog Shayna's birth story (soon will do).
18. Play in a grass tournament. It has been too long since we have played in one of these and they are my favorite.
19. Witness Willie blessing our child, going to probably be one of my favorite days this birthday year.
20. Start Shayna in toddler yoga, soccer or gymcats at 3 years, she is too active to not!
21. Sew more, our wedding quilt would be ideal but that is too much work.
22. Get better at family prayer and FHE.
23. Temple monthly....please do!
24. Do temple work for a least one set of family members (genealogy).
25. Serve, would be fun to plan a family service project or some kind.

This birthday has reminded me of just how blessed I am. I am truly so grateful for everything that I have and everyone that I have. This is going to be one great year for me and my beautiful, growing family. I cannot wait to blog the memories here.

Farias Forever.
